Final Boss Group Project


Genre: side scrolling adventure/puzzle/with hints of horror

Game inspiration:

·         Limbo

·         Eversion

·         Rayman legends

Levels: Minimum 5

·         Farm/field

·         Carnival

·         Woods at night/Cave/swamp

·         Art/history Museum (T- Rex made of maybe spoons in normal/ horror something else)

·         Industrial city – Constantly horrible, collect gems for a few moments respite

 

·         Playing on Phobias still > Changes the path if gems not collected.

·         Car crash - newspaper article at the end > Pile up his fault

·         Maybe Drunk driving

·         Limit

Stretch goals:

·         Secret gems: collect all for different ending???

·         Crawling???

·          

Plot:

Man ends up in a car crash coming home from a party, during his unconsciousness; he enters a “Dream state” and travels through the levels. The levels will alternate between two worlds, a horror/disturbing world, and the “Pure” world. The levels will increasingly get worst, with longer time spent in the disturbed world; you have to collect items for the world to revert back to the “Pure” world.

 

The disturbed world will represent the horror of the car crash. During the horror element of the game, appearance of phobias in visual forms will be present during levels to add towards the horror feel.

 

At the end, you discover that there had been a car pile-up, caused by your drunk driving. 

Chapter One:

·         On screen - FoxTales Production presents > playing speeding car sound

·         Fade into Title

·         Start in field > travel through the field > learn controls > collect gems > next level

 

Chapter Two:

·         Black screen > Heavy breathing/hissing of the car cooling down, distant car crash

·         Carnival level

·         Hints of reality – eg. Car parts you can move maybe

Chapter 3:

·         Black screen, sirens sounds,

·         Woods level

·         Siren lights in the background ocassionally

Chapter 4:

·         Black screen > A&E  sounds

·         Art museum level

·         Car broken > Hospital bed > Defibrillator

·         “Don’t forget the party tonight!” < In an art

Chapter 5 (all horror area, use gems for short time breaks):

·         Black screen > Heart monitor beeping

·         Industrial level  - Derelict

·         Abandoned items – power station area, cranes, concrete tubes, cones, wire fences, restricted areas

 

Various Ending:

1.       About to collect last gem, fall through floor, wake up

2.       Darkness grows more quickly, collect large gem, gem shatters, wake up

3.       Chases gem, bright light, wakes up
