Re-Usable Assets (Trees)

3 Variations of Trees.

Rejected 3D Models of Trees:



These three tree designs were rejected because they were to high in poly count (the leafs were the cause of it) and because it didn't fit the overall theme of the game cause it looked too realistic. So as a group we had to decide which type of trees would be best suited as a re usable asset for our game and remain low in poly count. 

I had some difficulties making these since I couldn't quite capture the realism of the tree's anatomy, I had to re adjust the branches until I found the right shape.

Estimated time to make each tree was 3 hours cause of their organic shape and leaf placing. however time management wise it was the first models that I created at the start of the project when we were at testing phase and were not at the stage in producing new worlds for our game. 

These models were ready to use for the game engine however I will keep these to use in a future project.

These tree were agrred upon as a group and were far easier and quicker to make. the other up side to this choice was that it fit our theme perfectly and gave the environment that cartoony feeling. since there were 5 designs to have we can create a forest or back ground trees with various tree type and sizes.

These models are game ready by deleting their work flow history and un seen polygons

Estimated time in making each of these tree is 20 mins. Re doing the tree was a major blow to our schedule since the problem in choosing a replacement tree was quickly decided on.
